We are delighted to welcome Daniela Arra as a Trainee Underwriter to our Irish team, marking the beginning of her professional career following the completion of her law degree at Maynooth University.

Although she initially envisioned a career in medical negligence law, her professional journey took a new direction when a recruiter introduced her to the world of title insurance with a role here at Westcor. Daniela quickly learned about the unique opportunities in this field, finding that title insurance offers a practical application of her law degree and a fresh way to approach legal challenges.

“Title insurance wasn’t something that was ever discussed at university. I had no idea how large the industry was or the variety of legal expertise that goes into it. When I explored Westcor’s website and saw how much insight is shared from a legal standpoint, I knew it was the right fit. Meeting the team, especially Aisling and Tom, confirmed that this was a great opportunity for learning and development.”

Daniela will be working closely with Aisling, a qualified solicitor, to help build Westcor’s growing Irish team following the recent recruitment of Tom. Daniela is looking forward to learning from her colleagues, gaining practical experience, and applying her academic background in ways she hadn’t anticipated during her studies.

“What I love most so far is that we’re not just identifying legal problems; we’re providing solutions,” Daniela explains. “It’s a completely different angle from what I expected in law, and I’m eager to contribute to Westcor’s success while learning from my peers.”

Daniela is focused on professional development and shaping the Irish team’s foundations. Her enthusiasm and commitment to learning have already made her a valued team member.

As Daniela embarks on this exciting new chapter, she encourages recent graduates to explore diverse career paths: “I always thought the sole route for law graduates was to become a solicitor or barrister. The fact that there are different options available, like title insurance, is not discussed widely enough. There’s a unique exposure to experienced legal knowledge and application, and it’s rewarding to use my degree in a completely new way.”

It’s wonderful to have Daniela on board, and we look forward to watching her develop what is sure to be a successful career at Westcor.
