Westcor International formally announces its new strategic partnership with Chaucer, the global speciality (re)insurance group – a collaboration alongside their existing relationship with AXA XL, and one that is poised to propel the company to a new competitive level in the dynamic title insurance landscape.

The partnership, which was effective from 1st January 2024, is set to bring about substantial changes, particularly in Westcor’s capacity to underwrite and respond to market needs in the UK and The Republic of Ireland.

Carmel Caramagna, Senior Vice President of Westcor International, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We are pleased to be working with another insurer who understands the approach of our boutique practice to underwriting complex risks. This partnership marks not only a significant milestone but is also a testament to the strength of our enduring connections within the insurance industry. We enjoy a great relationship with AXA XL, and we look forward to expanding that to include Chaucer and sharing the synergies that define our shared commitment to innovation and delivering client satisfaction.”

Xamira Groves, Head of Insurance at Chaucer Group echoes this sentiment, ” Chaucer are pleased to enter into this collaboration, which will complement existing relationships and boost our goal to be a key provider of choice to this specialist market. We recognise Westcor’s flexibility and expertise in the niche title insurance market, which makes this a strategic and valuable partnership within our overall portfolio.”

The increased underwriting capacity signifies not just a numerical expansion but a profound endorsement of the company’s commitment to the regions across Scotland & Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and England and Wales. The move reflects the confidence of carriers in Westcor’s responsible underwriting practices and its dedication to meeting the needs of its clients.
